According to ESPN radio, the Yankees are putting in offers to Sheets, Manny, Lowe and Teixeira. I hope we can sign a starting pitcher before the Yankees sign everyone.

Pick up Fuentes!

A team of seven closers pitching as relievers would be fine with 3 starters pitching every 4 days.

It wasn’t that long ago that there wasn’t such a thing as a closer. Let’s remake the model again. A committee of closers that pitch 5 out 9 innings almost every game. All of that for the price of Perez….

im not saying we have to get Lowe but Ollie is not good. he’s either amazing or he’s terrible

i mean it really doesnt matter how much they make per year as long as we dont get stuck with unmoveable contracts like Castillo.

if you sign Ollie long term what happens in 2 years if he struggles and has an era over 5. thats very possible given his erratic pitching…

Well when you’re buying a 35 year old, he’s only as good as his last year.

Look at Lowe even in 2007, he was worse than 2008. 3.80 ERA overall, his Pre and Post All-Star Break stats are night and day.

Lowe is not worth a 3 or 4 year contract, or 15 Mil.

Sign Garland and Sheets/Ollie.

i saw ur post and you’d have to look at his stats beside this season to see if that is a trend or a fluke but even if what ur saying winds up being true Perez is not a reliable pitcher.

id rather go in with Pedro and Marquis on 1 year deals than locking up Perez

Santana, Pelfrey, Ollie, Maine, Marquis.
That’s more than fine and better than anything the Phillies have by any stretch of the imagination.
