Today I finally understand why Omar traded for Putz. He now has a terrific pitcher that is going to bring it and be hungry for the closer spot if K-rods slips (velocity or if he blows his arm out, he pitches with alot of stress aginast his arm)

I actually think what K-Rod said was great. If you ask me, the one thing the Mets didn’t have last year (besides a bullpen), was life. I think K-rod’s gonna give this team energy, and that’s what the Mets need. I mean David Wright is a great player, but he is so CALM. And Jose Reyes is electric on the field, but he never says anything (partly because you cant understand what he says). Well, last year Carlos Beltran said that the Mets would be the team to beat, and I thought he was right. He was wrong, but at least somebody’s trying to instill life into this team.

Just messin’ with ya I can keep up with your comments even though they are rolled up into long paragraph I mean sentence where you never know where one thought stops and another one starts but you are a true diehard met fan who only wants what is best for the team so I like your attitude and enthusiasm OK keep it up

Nice, but here comes the part where you actually read. See a reported asked Krod a question, so any “Mets need to close their mouths” is automatically invalid, since he was answering the question. If he tried to avoid it he would’ve been crucified and instead he basically said that the Mets ‘want’ to be in the position to say they’re the team to beat, hence improving the team. In no way shape or form did Krod make a bold claim, he simply answered it by saying that the Mets want to improve so that they can say that they’re the best. But most people seem to have their idiot filters on and forget to actually read what was said.

It’s simple. Until the Mets win the division, they should not declare anything. Talk is cheap, not your contracts. Therefore, close the mouths and channel your words into actions. Mets fans have heard this statement the past 2 years.

When Jimmy Rollins said the Phillies were the team to beat in 2007, they actually did it. Beltran claimed it in 2008, and the Mets didn’t do it. Stop talking and play. Mets fans do not care if you declare yourselves the team to beat. They want you to win. As much as I hate Rollins, I can’t say anything back because they won and we didn’t.

As much as I hate to say it, Cole Hamels is right that the Mets are choke artists. But until we prove otherwise, stop talking!!!!

apparently according to jerry crasnick from espn, the mets are now the frontrunners for derek lowe now that the yankees are presumably out since they signed derek lowe. i call bs.
