I think Omar is playing it right with Ollie-- I wouldn't pay him more than $50-$55 million over 4 years, and I don't want to go 5 with him-- he's way too inconsistent. With Lowe, why not try and give him a higher salary for less years (given his age) and snag him with a 3 year deal worth $56 million, with a 4th year option that vests with certain #s of wins/appearences/whatever. Then you can go get a veteran to compete with Niese for the #5 slot, like Garcia, or even Pedro (he might want to come back with his buddy Lowe on the team...) Didn't Glavine sign on Christmas? Or was it thanksgiving? All I remember was that for better, or much more likely for worse, there was never a lull in the action with Phillip.
