you guys think that omar is working quickly to sign lowe so he can get manny?..no offers are being made for manny at all.other than the dodgers but lets face it..they dont want him…the only other team that i can see getting him..is the nationals…but again..maybe omar is working fast to sign lowe so he can then sign manny?

Duh…Murph would hit .000 as he would have no position (Manny does have to play LF as well as hit – no DH in the real baseball league) and would likely be in Buffalo.

for 3/69 and KILLS US for the next couple yrs.
Please Wilpons, STOP with the phoney excuses. You let Omar give millions over the
last 3 seasons to guys who are over-the-hill,
never-any-good,always hurt or all three. BUT
Manny is a no-go. Ok. Well good to know I
havent wasted the last 35 years dying hard
w/ this team.Heck we always have 2011 to
look foward to when we can celebrate the
25th anniversary of our last(and only one–
–I remember) Championship.

Dan Graziano of the Newark Star-Ledger tells us to take the New York Mets off the Manny List. Graziano writes that GM Omar Minaya is having trouble selling Ramirez to ownership, despite how well he would fit in with the team. He adds that despite the Red Sox missing out on Mark Teixeira to the Yankees on Tuesday, Ramirez had a worse day. As Graziano puts it, “Because, honestly, where is he going to go now?”

8:01am: Common sense tells T.J. Simers of the Los Angeles Times that Manny’s best — and possibly only — option is a contract with the Dodgers. He wonders if the Dodgers and owner Frank McCourt really even want Ramirez to return. Regardless, Simers doesn’t see the slugger ending up with a small- or mid-market franchise.

you should be cringing as we all should be.
we’ve seen a championship right there for the
taking the last 3 seasons while omar throws
wilpon $$ at the likes of alou,castillo and duque. And Now, Manny sits there on Christmas eve unsigned and we don’t have
a #2 SP(Lowe) Yet our team nickels&dimes
around. Look murphy,tatis&church aren’t
corner OFers on a championship team.
With the revenue this teams generated
the last few seasons and will the next few
(thanks to the new stadium) Theres no
excuse here NOT to sit w/Manny and tell
him how great a player he is AND how we
want/need him to be the key in leading us
to a title. That and 3yrs/70mil should get
it done.

I’m torn, I agree we need Lowe to shore up starting rotation but I’m cringing thinking about going into another year with the same lineup and 1 or 2 plan C guys off the scrap heap. We need something to shake up the bats.

I’d guess Matsui would be the one to move but that might be a difficult sell.

They could keep all of them if the starting outfield is Manny, Damon and Swisher from left to right with Matsui the DH and Cabrera and Gardner on the bench. But that’s an awful defense with which to start games.
