Way to post like you know what you are talking about.

What evidence is there that Manny has ever shown a losing attitude? He wins everywhere he goes, and there is a player who claims to love him for every player there is who says they don't.

NO MANNY.
The last thing we need is a clubhouse cancer with a losing attitude.

If the issue with Manny is his attitude, not money, then I expect the money they're not spending on him to be used elsewhere.

Bring in Lowe of course, Dunn, Willie Aybar, another bullpen arm like Ohman and other 5th start type like Wolf or Redding, I like Wolf because he's left handed but obviously it would depend on his cost.

I would agree except the difference between Manny and Delgado isn't close to marginal. We're talking about nearly .200 points of OPS. The difference between him and Delgado is like the difference between Dustin Pedroia and Luis Castillo, offensively I mean, or Beltran and Endy.

Manny has a much better bat than Delgado, and a lot more reliable. And offense with Murphy/Evans/w.e at first and Manny is lf is more dangerous than an offense with Delgado at first and Murphy/Tatis/Evans in lf.

I like Ramirez, but I'd rather see him somewhere other than the Mets.

I'd prefer the Mets to address their pitching(Sheets, Ol Perez, Redding, Juan Cruz) and consider less obvious options for the open corner OF slot.

It is painfull to read beyond 25 words of this ridiculously long run on sentence. I'm not huge on grammar, but c'mon man, a few periods would do.

The Mets absolutely need Manny...just to compete in this market now that the trash across town has raised the bar. Not just compete in the market, but on the field too. The Mets need Manny Ramirez. Plain and simple...should they lose out, the only other acceptable option is Magglio Ordonez. Maybe something like this would be appealing to the involved parties?

DODGERS GET - Luis Castillo
DODGERS GIVE - Juan Pierre

TIGERS GET - Juan Pierre, Nick Evans, Marlon Anderson, Jeffry Marte
TIGERS GIVE - Magglio Ordonez

METS GIVE - Jeffry Marte, Nick Evans, Luis Castillo, Marlon Anderson
METS GET - Magglio Ordonez

Manny fall back option. Shoot, I'd still sign Manny, and include Church to get Magglio if I had to. I like that idea better....say Church instead of Marte and Evans...

1)SS - Jose Reyes
2)CF - Carlos Beltran
3)LF - Manny Ramirez
4)1B - Carlos Delgado
5)RF - Magglio Ordonez
6)3B - David Wright
7)2B - David Murphy
8)C - Brian Schnieder

Sign Ollie, Pedro, Omar Vizquel, and Beimel, and that's an off-season we can be proud of. DON'T TELL ME WILPON DOESN'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR IT!! At $6 profit per bottle of beer sold, 82 home games, and probably 30,000 bottles sold per game; that's 15+ million on beer profit alone per year. Never mind hot dogs, pretzels, sausage and peppers, burgers, fries, nachos, merchandise, soda, etc...plus internet revenue, ticket sales, and all the advertising money they're RAKING in from SNY...oh yeah, and league wide shared revenue....they easily have to be raking in I'd say around 400 million this upcoming season. 45,000 seats + say 50 bucks = 184 Million, 500 thousand from ticket sales alone...I jacked it up to an average of 50$ per because of the luxury boxes...believe that 400 million this season is a very real number, and might even be conservative.

Listen, the government dished out 700 billion dollars to bail out...who? There's 350 million people in America. That means they could have given each and every one of us 2 BILLION dollars instead. Seriously, wouldn't we have paid our loans off if we each got 2 billion dollars? That seems to me a better allocation of that money. Ok, sure everyone would stop working, and the economy would crumble, but they could have gave 50 billion to whoever got scammed from Madoff, gave every citizen in America 150,000 for a cost of 52 Billion 500 million....and between those two expenditures that's still just 102 billion, 500 million. The banks needed all that, plus an additional near 600 BILLION, but we're all going to get taxed more in January?

Gas prices needs to be raised? Cigarette prices need to be raised? Something is WAY Wrong. I'll make a deal, I'll keep my mouth shut if the Mets sign Manny, Oliver Perez, Pedro, and Vizquel or Easley + a lefty reliever. I "win" 25000$ in the next month, cigarettes on reservations are still allowed to be sold tax free, gas prices are kept somewhat "reasonable", and a return of Manimal on some station....the choice is yours...or I can get my Fn Shine Box cause I'm feeling pretty tough..

the funny part is people are worried about clubhouse chemistry, yeah because we wouldn't want to ruin the great chemistry that has allowed the team to collapse three seasons in a row
