There's a good chance the risk pays off handsomely, and they make post-season revenue. Not to mention no other player would have a bigger effect on the culture of Ny Baseball. The Mets would earn a profit from the Manny merchandise that eclipses his contract in all likelihood. Sign Manny Ramirez you cheap Wilpons. He's no doubt an offensive upgrade over any Second Base or Left Field option currently in house though...The basis of this trade however is strictly contract based. It does in fact fill various needs for the teams involved, but the true beauty of it lies with in the moving contracts. The move would save the Mets about 2 million this year, and an additional 12 million the following 2.
