I don’t care either; the way I figure it the Mets are easily going to eclipse 350 million this year in revenue raised…and with a total operating budget that probably isn’t above 230 million, that’s at least 120 Million dollars of profit headed the Wilpons way this year….you’re telling me they can’t risk making only 100 million in profit this year to give it’s faithful fans a Championship? There's a good chance the risk pays off handsomely, and they make post-season revenue. Not to mention no other player would have a bigger effect on the culture of Ny Baseball. The Mets would earn a profit from the Manny merchandise that eclipses his contract in all likelihood.

Sign Manny Ramirez you cheap Wilpons. If they don’t sign Manny, I hope the word Wilpon becomes a colloquial epithet…akin to mingy.

SIGN MANNY RAMIREZ!!!

Who cares about contract $ when all I want is wins! I'll pay $200 a ticket if it means the Mets go to the Series!

hey throwing names out there as 2 players Wolf/Redding, I like the gamble, 1 of the 2 should turn out some production, worth the gamble to get both and probably cheaper then 1 Lowe.
I still dont think Omar should be done with the bull pen. It'l take more than KROD/PUTZ to reshape that terrible 08 pen.
Hoping to land a Scott Shields type from LAA. That would be the finishing touch to turn Wolf/Redding potential into impressive players.
With a strong bull pen the Wolf/Redding type could have carreer years. But of the 2, one will be above average (carreer yr) and the other still terrible (lets not get carried away). But I see potential and rather the risk then commiting to Perez or Lowe for big contracts. Leave some monetary room for Omar to jump if another opportunity arises.

I'm sure you rolled your eyes since we all know that Santana is worth far more than that rabble of garbage, but the Mets don't need Mora in all honesty. He's no doubt an offensive upgrade over any Second Base or Left Field option currently in house though...The basis of this trade however is strictly contract based. It does in fact fill various needs for the teams involved, but the true beauty of it lies with in the moving contracts.

The move would save the Mets about 2 million this year, and an additional 12 million the following 2.

Why would the Mets need Mora? Why not just trade Santana for CC, AJ, Wang, and Joba? *rolls eyes*

On second thought, I think the Royals should give up an arm instead of the Mets kicking in Muniz to Minnesota.

5 team trades don't happen all that often, but I don't see why this one isn't appealing to all involved. If anyone could appreciate Castillo's OBP it'd be Billy Beane, no? A lot of bad contracts being exchanged here....and then the Mets can go sign Manny...to make up for the drop in offense from Schnieder to Buck...just kidding...
