Somebody correct me if I am wrong but didn't Willie get a job as the bench coach for Milwaukee, so how are we still paying him if he got a job?

Willie would have had to stayed unemployed for 2 years i think, to receive the rest of his money on his contract?

Castillo was 1 win below average in 2007 and 1 win below replacement in 2008. He was so bad in 2008 that it's easy to forget that he was pretty bad in 2007 (mostly because of bad defense).

That almost makes sense, if the Angels are thinking to contend.

If it is either Eckstein or Cora, (or I should say) if Eckstein is willing to come here to back up, then bring him on board. I would have rather had him than Castillo last year to begin with.

Eckstein would be perfect for us, providing leadership and a backup shortstop if (gulp) anything ever happened to Reyes.

Cora is a career backup, and I would not feel comfortable with him playing extended starting time if he needed to. But if he is being offered a starting job elsewhere, then I cannot see Eck coming here.

Turthfully, I have always like Counsel too, but I would not be too mad if Omar picked Cora over him.

Why is there no mention of Rich Aurilia? He'd be a perfect fit for the Mets. He's RH, plays every position in the infield, and would give Castillo legit competition for 2B during spring training. And he's from Brooklyn!

I haven't seen his name connected to the Mets at all. Doesn't anyone notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!

I like both Wiggy and Grud, but neither of them plays SS, and we need someone who can fill in for Jose.

yeah but they have to decide on a position for him first. I'm still hoping they move him to catcher.

are people serious with names like Alex Cora, Eckstein, Counsell, Marcus Giles, etc being better options than Luis Castillo?

Met fans love to hate...but at least hate with some logic
