Anyway, I don't hold it against Pettitte for telling the truth under oath in a Senate investigation.

Only Lowe and Sheets have regularly had under 4 ERAs among the available free agent starting pitchers. Are those the only two you would accept?

If I remember correctly you were not in favor of bringing Lowe in either.

Can't have a player of such low morals on our team.

Do you guys remember his press conference? He swore that he only used HGH once, then he was busted for using it more than once a few weeks later, and again he swore that it was only those three times.

How quickly we forget.

Ideally I would prefer a rotation of:
Santana
Lowe
Sheets
Pelfrey
Maine
and Jon Niese as a backup for Sheets. However, I don't see the Mets getting Sheets, and in that case, I would like a guy who hasn't been mentioned at all, but is perfect for the 5 spot in our rotation; Odalis Perez. He's a lefty, he's under 32, and he knows the division from pitching with the Nationals.

gina i wasnt talking about the park lowe was in i was talking about him facing the giants with molina as their cleanup hitter and the rockies and the dbacks so many times which deflated his era. i dont know why you wouldnt consider peavy an ace that is absolutely rediculous. first of all eh averages more than 200 strikeouts a year, he won the CY YOUNG AWARD IN 2007 and im pretty sure if you win that award then you are a bonafide ace. i think this team needs both in order to win us a world series but if i had to take one ill take oli, i think that he will continue to mature and i think he has the potential to be a veryyy dominant number 2. remember his era is inflated bc of his poor era the first half of last era, he was pretty good when warthen took over.

i would love omar to get sheets and oli, i agree with you kingman. santana, sheets, pelfrey, oli, and maine would be ideal then you have insurance in neise and maybe in pedro martinez who i would like to come back. his teammates love him and i think thats very important he makes the clubhouse alot looser and makes the team laugh which is extremley imp. also thereal i agree with you when your worried about maine being a 5 inning guy. that worrys me a little and bc of this it tends to wear down the pen and if your pen is bad then you are screwed but now with our pen as good as it is atleast for now omar is still trying to improve it, i think its fine to have maine going 6 innings. i dont he is a 5 inning guy i would say 6 though.

Lowe is an extreme ground baller there's no reason to think the park will have much of an affect on his ERA. Not to mention Ollie's ERA was terrible against those same "worst teams in baseball", like over 11, so I'm not sure that's really an argument. Why would you possibly want Ollie over Lowe?

And I don't think Lowe is an ace. I just don't think Peavy necessarily is either.
