Dont bring pedro back. I love pedro the energy he brings to the club and how much he helps team chemistry. However everytime he take the mound we all cringe and hope its not the last time he steps on the rubber for the rest of the season. Spend the money you were going to give Pedro to Lowe and Redding.

We took a chance on Delgado, after that awful start, and, look at what he did? I think Pedro can be effective and with th edepth of our rotation and our new pen, I feel less certain, that the starter has to go 7-8 innings to win a game. Our pen will be lights out AWSOME, so a bad start from Pedro or Perez, will not cost us a game everytime. Sure, Pedro does not strike fear into the hitters like he once did, bit, HE'S PEDRO!!! If the price is rigt give him a chance, if he is greedy and wants more, let him walk.

No, thank you. They'd have to guarantee Pedro a rotation spot, and they will be hard-pressed to pull him is he is pitching badly... just because he is Pedro.

"Pedro will bounce back, blah, blah, blah.."

What Matt said yesterday regarding Pedro pretty much nailed it, IMO.

Its all about Depth in the rotation, having 6 or 7 guys who can step in, especially with Maine coming off an injury and Pelfrey being at risk for a step back after logging so many innings.

I'm completely fine bringing in Pedro at a decent price. I don't see the Mets giving Pedro enough money that would preclude them from signing another player. If they sign him it will be on their terms, and If that's the case, I say go for it.

Redding in long relief/ 5th starter if Pedro gets hurt does not sound awful. But I can see money being spent better in other ways.

Agreed. We need a pinch hitter who can jack a few. Damion Easley actually was decent in that regard.

I'd trade a mid-level prospect for Thames. He'd be serviceable as backups to both corners in the outfield and to Delgado.

I really wish the Mets were in on Baldelli.

I don't see a need for Redding as long as we have Stokes.

They'll both give us the same mediocre 5 innings as starters but I prefer to keep Stokes around and in the pen because I like his K ability.

With all that depth still 9 of those 10 guys are righties. N/G if you ask me. Remember who's in our division. Utley, Howard, Ibanez. Need I say more. We need 2 lefties in the rotation and 1 more lefty in the pen. I am all for Lowe with a cheap lefty at the 5 spot. Odalis Perez or a guy like that? For the pen Ohman, Reyes, Takahashi? 1 more lefty speciaist and we're set.
