This is just another test for a true Mets fan. As usual, just when it seems the organization ‘gets it’, they turn around and give it to the fans. While lamenting over a patch is somewhat lame, you’d like your team not to have approved something so (fill in the blank here). Hopefully, this is not a harbinger of things to come for the approaching season.

Whatever 65 IQ short-bus rider came up with a logo that looks like that should be banned from Madison Avenue forever. It looks like something between a Domino’s logo, as suggested, and a swipe-card to your room at the Domino’s Motel. Not only is it suggestive of the brand of pizza, but it has all the originality of a speed limit sign. No wonder these guys collapse every year… :p

Peterson didn’t have a hand in it. He liked Zambrano as a project pitcher. Leiter and Franco hated Kazmir and made him out to be a problem child. So Duquette traded Kazmir for the guy his pitching coach liked.

Watching some of the games in September when we got our ample arses handed to us by the Nats and Marlins, YEAH, we choked. “CHOKING HAZARD” would be a better text for our bland, industrial looking patch than “Inaugural season.”

YUP. They should all play in unadorned, identical, blank jerseys, because visual appeal has nothing to do with the enjoyment we derive from watching a bunch of strangers play baseball on a sunny day.

I.E., spare us the high-and-mighty Roger Angell I-love-my-pure-as-bleach-baseball BS.
