Remember when Piazza signed 7yrs/91 mil?? by the end of that contract, it seemed small too. Mets have the money and seriously need a consistent, right handed bat that can hit for power. He was -4 at shortstop last year, which all in all made him 3 runs above replacement in the field. To put that in perspective, he was about as effective as Cesar Izturis and Ryan Theriot, but with a huge contract. I'd take him, but definitely not for Murph and a pitcher.
