Looking at the comments from earlier this morning, some commented Wiggington should have been signed instead. What good does that do us as a MI BU? We need someone who can play short also. Someone's solution of bringing up someone from the minors to give Reyes a day off isn't going to work. I.E., Reyes jams a finger sliding into second and has to come out of that game, or has a hamstring twinge running to first and is taken out. Where would we be then with no one who can play SS? And if you think it can't happen, I refer to Jerry Manual's first game as manager..... I think Cora was a needed signing. You just don't know it until a signing happens. Also, MLBTR said one of the conditions the Braves but for the overly generous contract was a quick decision (sounds like "take it or leave it" so there may not have been time to re-shop Omar, although I am sure Boras pretty much knew he wasn't gonna top it. he probably was multitasking last week.
