    GAH! Blue Walls!?!?

The Metsblog Staff should send a head up to the team over there ASAP! It would be a huge mistake to release this game with such a huge error in the stadium!

  2. dave27 says:

Cool. Really starts to sink in how strange it’s going to be to be watching home games someplace other than Shea.

  3. scooter says:

The foul polls are orange!! NOT YELLOW! but oh well, this makes me happy

now we just need to upgrade the offense a bit

  4. Deaner says:

are the walls going to be blue?

  5. scooter says:

    green i believe

  6. phukthephills says:

    sweet

  7. Flushing_is_Burning says:

    pretty awesome!!!

  8. Deaner says:

i think the walls should be blue, honestly. why green?

  9. Coolpapabell says:

I’m looking for an x-box 360 baseball game? Any suggestions which one is the best?

    • kowalski69 says:

Not 2k sports, whatever you do. Last years game bit so hard. I think we’re stuck because ‘the show’ is a ps3 thing

    • phukthephills says:

i think the only one is gunna be mlb 2k9 and 2k8 was an ok game…nothing special.

      • Coolpapabell says:

Alright. My brother has 2K7 and I loved it. I did hear that 2k8 stunk and that the graphics are worse than 2k7. I guess I am going to have to hope they fixed it.

      • ravi3 says:

I enjoy 2K8. Yes it leaves something to be desired (as does any baseball game that isn’t MVP). Starting with 2k7, the game’s developers unvieled a 3 year plan to overhaul the game, with the 3rd being by far the best.

Now I’m not really sure whatelse they can do to improve 2k8, as my issues were with the core graphics. I think it has progessed to the best it that it could with the game engine.

        • BatteriesForRocker says:

Dude, how cool would it be to have an expansion mode, like in the older mvp games?

    • Nightlife says:

I think the 2K series is your only option on the 360 and the 2K baseball games have been awful for awhile now. I pretty much bought my PS3 solely for The Show ‘08 (that and Blu-Ray).

    • casey s. says:

Last year, I sold my xbox360 and bought a PS3 just to play a decent baseball game (MLB The Show). It was worth it.

      • Coolpapabell says:

Really ,so would you say that The Show 08 is better than 2k7?

        • casey s. says:

          It’s not even close, coolpapabell.

          • Genesis Does says:

The Show blows away 2K. I bought a PS3 last year just for the Show and BluRays….with my economic stimulus check. Probably shouldnt have spent it on a Japanese system, meh.

        • Beisbl2004 says:

I had xbox 360 last year and got the show for ps2 because i hated 2k for 360 so much after playing the show

    • CHIEFSLAPAHO75 says:

Only one for the 360 is MLB 2K10. MLB The Show is for PS3 only.

  10. dlizard21 says:

Awesome stadium… I hope I’ll be able to afford the PSL.

  11. kowalski69 says:

looks like dwright will slug the first one out of the park

  12. phukthephills says:

if we give ollie 3 years 10 mil per that is 30 mil in total
then we offer sheets 2 year 10 mil per thats 20 mil.
that is 50 mil in total…we were going to give lowe 40 mil, this would only be 10 mil more…and i would rather have these two than just lowe……when ollie is on he is one of the best in the game….when sheets is on the field and not injures (which is not as much as people think) he is one of the best in the game….all im saying is that a rotation of
    johan
    sheets
    pelf
    ollie
    maine
is possible and would not cost us much more than we would have paid for just lowe…i dont think anyone can say that there is a better staff in the nl better than that

  13. jesusmaramba says:

The walls are not green, they will be blue. All of the Citi Field renderings has them as such.

    • casey s. says:

if you go to stadium page, you will see (in the Dec 12th pictures) that the walls are green.

      • ravi3 says:

The walls aren’t done yet. Still need the advert’s and padding, if I am correct.

In fact, if you watch the virtual tour (which you can find on the link below) you’ll notice that the walls are blue.

      • scooter says:

where do you see december 12th pictures?

        • casey s. says:

go to stadiumpage.com, click the link under the picture on the homepage for “construction photos of Citi Field” and then click the December 12, 2008 link.

    • Nightlife says:

Whether or not the color of the walls is correct at the moment the game doesn’t come out for another month+ and they can always release a patch for the game. Not a big deal.

  14. Genesis Does says:

Id love to see a virtual Castillo getting booed on opening day. And what’s with Wright admiring his home run? Run it out, man!

  15. no1metsfan88 says:

you guys are wrong the walls are correct and our blue. Look at the mets virtual tour at mets.com the wall is in fact blue

    • casey s. says:

You’re talking about a VIRTUAL tour. As in Not a real tour, right?

I would draw your attention to the yellow foul polls in the virtual tour, which we all know are not right because we have actually seen orange foul polls in REAL photos of the Citi Field.

I wouldn’t use a virtual tour created two-three years ago as the be all end all.

  16. scooter says:

ah youre right, for some reason i thought they were green.

  17. Chris02M says:

right now they are the same color as the seats…really dark green. nobody knows for sure if there actually gonna stay that way.if u go to baseball fever.citi field section there are pictures of this from last week or 2

  18. NickA33 says:

Makes me miss Opening Day already. C’mon April, get here already!!!!

  19. bucknersankles says:

Very nice, the only thing is that you will never see David Wright stand in the box admiring a bomb.

  20. Ollie Ollie Perez Free! says:

    Ugh… I just creamed myself…

  21. swirlywand says:

okay- so the WHOLE THING WAS WORTH IT TO SEE THE APPLE! awwwwwwwwwwwww
    I CAN NOT WAIT!

    *sigh*…3 months to go…

  22. bkfitz says:

The pitching animations are horrible in that game. They look nothing like real life. I don’t care for how the players look in the game either. There hasn’t been a good baseball video game since MVP 05.

  23. nydre78 says:

It’s going to be weird the first time walking into a brand new stadium like that to watch a Mets home game when I was so used to Shea.

  24. ccmetfan says:

Wright’s admiring the homerun because he hit it off Hamels.

  25. CHIEFSLAPAHO75 says:

I don’t care about the little things. That video is awesome.

  26. paulrubin says:

30+20 not much different than 40. Doesn’t work that way folks. Mets were at 12K with Lowe. Even if the only thing stopping them was the 4th year and they would have gone to 15K for 3 years, Perez isn’t settling for 10K a year. There will be 10 teams in on 10K a year for 3 years. Perez is going to go for at least 4 years at 12K a year. That’s the low end. He might go for 13K or more and don’t be shocked if a team offers a 5th year. He’s 27 years old with no history of arm problems and a lefty starter. We can only hope Minaya was really aiming at Perez from the get go if 3 years wouldn’t fetch nearly 36 year old Lowe. Otherwise we’d looking at a inadequate starting rotation for 2008. Santana/Maine/Pelfrey/?/Redding or Niese is only a pennant contending rotation if that ? is at least a #3 starter or better and even then, it’s not a rotation built to win in the post season. In fact even adding Lowe wouldn’t have done it. There are only 3 difference making starters who were free agents this year: Sabathia, Sheets who’s a horrendous injury risk, and Perez if he takes the next step to even moderate consistency. Lowe is a #2 starter at best and is about to be 36 years old.

Mets should accept what is, realize that the starting rotation’s only real problems last year were no acceptable #5 starter (Redding if nothing else is a bonafide #5 starter) and the injury to Maine. Bringing back Perez for 4-5 years doesn’t bother me in the slightest as long as he can be had for $13M or less. So 4 years at about $50M works for me and a 5th year option based on innings in year 4 or 3+4 is reasonable. After that, it’s either trading a top prospect for a decent starter, gambling on Pedro, or gambling on Sheets.

  27. elmetfano says:

Can’t wait to get this game, MLB The Show is easily the best baseball game out there BY MILES :D

  28. Number57 says:

    Oh hell yes.

  29. Bluewater3272 says:

I can’t wait for MLB’09… I bought a PS3 4 months ago just for the “The Show” and Blueray… Definately worth the money, especially when you’re playing The Show on a 48″ flat panel hehee

  30. Sparda29 says:

    It’s beautiful!!!!
