The Astros are in a financial bind…that trade would not only clear cap, and give them a semi-competitive team still for this year, but that’s a tremendous amount of return talent. Trading Berkman alone isn’t something that I would think would interest the Astros greatly. However, adding Tejada to the deal I feel is too tempting for them to ignore. Maybe they’d do Tejada for Castillo and Schnieder straight up? Then we could go after Saltalamaccia or even Pudge. We’d trade Flores to WIN the World Series. That’s what it’s all about.
