News: Mets sign Fossum to minor-league deal
According to the Buffalo News, the Mets signed OF Jason Cooper and LHP Casey Fossum to minor-league deals.
Cooper, 28, hit .247 with nine HR and 45 RBI in
102 games for Triple-A Buffalo last season.
“He also won his third straight Community Service Award for his efforts with the team’s youth baseball department,” according to the report.
The 30–year-old Fossum was 3-1 with a 5.66 ERA last year in 31 relief appearances for the Tigers, during which left-handed batters hit .245 against him.
