Let’s see, Ollie started 6 games against the Marlins last year—-he was 3–0 with a 2.23 ERA, and in 36 IP allowed 23 H and K’d 38.

Yeah, the Marlins will surely feast on him some more in 2009…..

It’s critical that Omar stays patient.

While the NY baseball market seems healthy, I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of players came onto the market as a result of the arb senarios, disappointing season ticket sales, and a lack of Yankee revenue sharing $$$. As I understand it, the Yanks will share less money because of the new stadium. Local ad rev from radio/TV deals and merchandise sales will be down also.

Hmmmmm, lets see. Another lefty just to face the phillies. Nevermind that the marlins have feasted on lefties. I guess all they have to do to win is beat the phillies. Are there really people here calling for a lefty-specialist starter for just one team?

last year cant realy be called a HUGE collapse. they werent in first for most of the year. if 07 didnt happen, 08 would never be considered a choke. yes the bullpen stunk, but we also had our closer miss the last month of the season with injury. i think he would have made up the one game difference.

and someone else just said that right now we arent a contender. rubbish

Who cared about Lowe, hes decent, and hes old. People reacted like he was an ace or something. I wouldn’t give him more than 12. Id rather give more money to Sheets and take the risk of an injury. Sheets is an ace, and can be unbelievable behind Johan.
