Mike Puma of the New York Post caught with former Mets closer John Franco last night and talked about the Mets new and improved bullpen.

Franco, who was attending the St. John’s Baseball Bullpen Winter Banquet, said the Mets bullpen that includes, Francisco Rodriguez and J.J. Putz, may be the best bullpen in franchise history, according to Puma.

Puma also notes Franco, who thinks the Mets still need to address their starting, believes both Rodriguez and Putz will be successful because both pitched their entire careers in the American League, they will have the advantage over National League hitters.
