Mike, from Planet of the Geeks, has created Lego versions of all sorts of professional athletes, including Carlos Delgado and David Wright, as you can see here:

…out…standing… well done, mike, well done indeed

Update, 10:20 am:

Paulaecinc in the comment’s section writes:

“What is great about these lego peices is that you can play with them all year long, up until September, thats when they usually fall apart.”

…zing… well played, sir

Apparently Mike left off the “Citi Field” patch.

NYMETSFAN718 January 28, 2009 at 10:00 am

The design it too difficult to incorporate

shea_guevara January 28, 2009 at 10:06 am

Yeah, that design is WAY too intricate to scale down to such a small size!

CaseStreet January 28, 2009 at 9:58 am

That’s awesome.

udontmesswiththejohan January 28, 2009 at 10:00 am

I’d like to order a Joe Orsulak vintage model please.

fongulalou January 28, 2009 at 10:02 am

jtcuse44 January 28, 2009 at 10:02 am

zer09 January 28, 2009 at 11:01 am

Typical Delgado – standing around…

Elastic January 28, 2009 at 10:03 am

Maybe he can create a power righty bat that can play LF.

fongulalou January 28, 2009 at 10:10 am

paulaecinc January 28, 2009 at 10:06 am

What is great about these lego peices is that you can play with them all year long, up until September, thats when they usually fall apart.

LOL

shea_guevara January 28, 2009 at 10:07 am

Fcking Heilman January 28, 2009 at 10:07 am

awwwwww thats not right! but unfortunately true

Brock Landers aka The Original Kingman 26 January 28, 2009 at 10:20 am

That was really funny!

NJMetsFan615 January 28, 2009 at 10:25 am

LMAO! You made it to the main page. Nice.

ProudMetFan January 28, 2009 at 10:33 am

That was very funny and intelligent

paulaecinc January 28, 2009 at 10:36 am

Thank you for the kind words fellow MET fans.

Alban January 28, 2009 at 10:07 am

These are great. Why does that Lego pose of DWright running seem so familiar? Is there a famous picture of him like that? Or does he always run like that?

Fcking Heilman January 28, 2009 at 10:08 am

I think that is pretty much how he always runs

Alban January 28, 2009 at 10:28 am

I’m impressed he was able to capture that so well with lego pieces.

Although, he could have put a little more work into showing delgado dogging it with Willie at the helm.

oleosmirf January 28, 2009 at 10:08 am

i wonder if the Luis Castillo version has the legs missing?

fongulalou January 28, 2009 at 10:12 am

No that would be the broken pieces when
you opened the box as a little kid.

Philnym31 January 28, 2009 at 10:17 am

Buster Olney reporting that Bobby Abreu is now willing to take a one year contract.

fongulalou January 28, 2009 at 10:22 am

Yeah but, yesterday he said he’d “settle” for
an Ibanez type 3/30 deal.Doesn’t matter though b/c it seems omars trying to wait until
one of these secondary guys(abreu,dunn)–
have to pay him for the right to sign a contract.
And really, none of these guys know whats
going on.

alex.422 January 28, 2009 at 10:24 am

fongu,

anybody from espn is a joke.. they all predict and stuff btu none of that happen, same with rosenthal and heyman..

Brock Landers aka The Original Kingman 26 January 28, 2009 at 10:48 am

alex, you are SO right….I really believe that Olney makes up most of what he reports, and Heyman is just a complete joke.

oleosmirf January 28, 2009 at 11:39 am

can he pitch?

Nate W. January 28, 2009 at 10:23 am

But did he built a lego version of Citi field for them to play in. That would be impressive.

Alban January 28, 2009 at 10:27 am

I’d buy that. Heck yes.

ProudMetFan January 28, 2009 at 10:35 am

I want that. With a little ball and bat. Oh man the kiddies would love that.

CaseStreet January 28, 2009 at 10:39 am

The only way the Mannyacs (c) will see Manny in a Mets Uniform is in the Lego version.

Brock Landers aka The Original Kingman 26 January 28, 2009 at 10:50 am

Lego finishes 4th in this year’s toy sales without making a Manny figure in a Mets uniform….hear me now bro, believe me later.

Quatrains, you know.

CaseStreet January 28, 2009 at 11:12 am

SIGN LEGO MANNY NOW!!!

wladair January 28, 2009 at 10:42 am

Very cool, love the idea. Case street, LMAO, i am sorry to say i don’t think it will happen even though many people are all for it, if Omar can’t sell it to the Wilpons.

youknowwhatimsayin January 28, 2009 at 10:44 am

Too bad Steve Garvey is retired. He had the quintessential “Lego Man” haircut…

VCarver January 28, 2009 at 10:57 am

Awesome. I want ones for Reyes and Wright.

theperfectgame January 28, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Hahaha, there’s also a Lego Jason Giambi on the guy’s site, complete with gold thong. Hilarious.

TanRu January 29, 2009 at 11:11 am

Thanks for posting these! I wish you could see Wright’s sticking-out tongue a little better in the picture.

Yes, I made these last year so the pizza patch had not been revealed yet. For now I will avoid the issue by working on my “Keith Hernandez Then and Now” set, heheh.

Mike
