I may be a raving lunatic, rabid about METS baseball who gets little to no respect from anybody, anywhere, at anytime. I've been blogging Mets baseball for about 2 years and have a grand total of two other Mets blogs that link up to me. So I want to thank you Matt for checking up on this story as I'm the one who caused all the ruckus, and in the process may have accidentally dragged some decent folks through the carpet, which I'm sorry for.

I believe in the Amazin Amazin Amazin Amazin Amazin Amazin Mets with or without Manny. That being said, Fred crack the safe since the bank is already broke and bring on Manny this guy he ain't no joke, revenue a streamin' like a good soft porno flick, Manny's a dreamin of holdin' that wooden stick in New York mother fu..er.

I still don't understand why the Mets wouldn't entertain the idea of trading Delgado and signing Manny. They should at least match the Dodgers 1 year/25 million and see what happens. At least leave us feeling like they care. Delgado seems reasonably priced. Perhaps not the bargain at the beginning of the off-season, but still good. So this should keep his trade value nice. The Angels or Giants will probably be interested if he goes out on the market. It'd be nice to get back from prospects or good relievers.

They always kept on saying addition by subtraction. Well, by subtracting Delgado, you open the door for new prospects and Manny. And while it may cost a draft pick to sign Manny, we can get that back next season, or the season after. At this point, a vesting option for 25 million on a 2nd year could probably get it done.

They say they don't want to go over the 160 luxury tax. They said they don't want to exceed the 143 million at the end of last season. Well, if Manny signs for 25 million and Delgado goes, it's 146 million.

Get me a time machine to October and tell the Wilpon's they could have Manny, K-Rod, Putz and re-signed Oliver Perez while only raising the payroll 3 million. They'd probably think I'm as crazy as they are for not wanting it to happen now.

How bout those ticket prices for their brand new free stadium loaded with luxury boxes...4th highest payroll with remaining holes and not enough money spent on player development is exceptionally insufficient.

If no one else has mentioned this, Joel Sherman is now reporting that the Mets will NOT get in on either Manny or Abreu (even if his price continues to drop). They are only looking for some cheap bench bats and maybe a lefty bullpen arm.

The lineup is set. Get used to it.
1B: Delgado
2B: Castillo
SS: Reyes
3B: Wright
LF: Tatis/Murphy
CF: Beltran
RF: Church
CA: Schneider/Castro

And the rotation is set:
1: Santana
2: Perez
3: Pelfrey
4: Maine
5: Redding (Garcia in the minors)

This offseason is over.
