I have a feeling they are keeping it up because the new Yankee Stadium won't be ready for opening day.

I don't feel confined or cheated at Arthur Ashe Stadium...

Anyway, CitiField will look nicer on TV, too.

You have to view moving from Shea two ways:

(1) eliminating Shea which we all loved, but it truly was beyond its prime.

(2) but also the Mets creating a stadium that is very “Arthur Ashe Stadium”- esque. In simple terms and using Shea terms, imagine (1) merging Loge into Field level creating a larger Field level, (2) eliminating the Upper deck at Shea so that Mezzanine becomes the upper deck (and charging a fee equal to Mezzanine plus 10 percent for that privilege, (3) taking a portion of that Upper deck and sliding it below Mezzanine (and charging three times the cost of Mezzanine at Shea). which makes the old Mezzanine level the new upper deck at Cit Field (I kid you not!) and (4) inserting below Mezzanine brand new suites (plus full view sight lines further raising Mezzanine to an even higher vantage point).

What we have is a new stadium where the every day Joe can only afford the “new” upper deck.

If you are a Tennis fan, what I just described is what they created when Arthur Ashe stadium was created.

Now, we have a similar stadium for baseball.

Sure, you may bash me for complaining now before any of us have set foot at Citi Field, but I am telling you … you will feel confined and a little cheated …. the same way you do at Arthur Ashe stadium.

Tearing down Shea was long overdue. It had become a real dump in recent years. Lets move on, OK? Shea's time is done.

oleo, no, that production wouldn't be enough out of one of the corner outfield positions, let alone both.

my biggest concern for the lineup (besides the bats not showing up late in games) is are Murphy and Church (who have never played a full season in the MLB) going to produce at the same rate as our main competition. (PHI, LA, CHI, STL, ARI, ATL etc.)

is .280 15 HR 70 RBI out of LF and RF enough?? or better yet if Beltran, Delgado, Wright and Reyes all dont drive in runs can we score more than 2 runs that game??

Shame on Matt for turning off the comments to the Julie Alexandria posting (or perhaps he knows us better than we do).

I have to say I was surprised to hear she is a Mets fan. Frankly, if you ever watched Beer Money (and I did mostly for her), she came off as a Yankee fan. I think this requires more investigation.

With the Fat Man taking a more prominent role in other SNY shows and Julie moving to Mets Weekly, is that it for Beer Money?

At least I wont have to run around Shea any more looking to see if Beer Money is filming and hoping that Laural (Julie) and not Hardy (Carlin) was on the premises.

And Matt, if she will be filming spots for Metsblog, I guess I will finally have to start paying attention to that as well. Matt, I think I am finally jealous of you!

Go Mets!

Shea take me with you! Life is just not worth living anymore!!

Seriously that is tough to watch. I wish they would have imploded it and have been done with it quickly. Doing it slowly makes it harder to deal with.

I love the Mets. I never liked Shea. Long live Citi field! (or whatever the name ends up to be) US Government Field?

Good riddance to bad ruble. I love the Mets and have fond memories from Shea but people please let that dump go. It was an eye-sore on Queens... QUEENS. Citi Field is amazing and will be one of the nicest parks in the league, we needed this. Also, the Mets franchise needed a new beginning. Easy to forget the past when you never return to the scene of the crime. Lets go Mets!
