Health: Injury Update on 7 Players

Ramon Martinez will miss today’s game with a hand injury.

Ryan Church fouled a ball off his knee during a game in Viera, and has missed the last two games.

…from what i can gather, church is able to pinch hit today, but in all likelihood he will return to the lineup on sunday…

Luis Castillo will sit today and rest his sore hamstring – Jerry Manuel told reporters yesterday he is just being extra careful with Castillo.

…similar to church, the word from St. Lucie is the castillo will likely return to the lineup on sunday…

OF Angel Pagan did not play yesterday, and is not in today’s starting lineup, with a sore right elbow.

Mets prospect Reese Havens was scratched from yesterday’s game with a strained left hamstring.

Tom Martin will miss the next week or so with a right calf injury.

According to the Daily News, ‘Martin wore a protective boot Friday morning in the clubhouse,’ though he says he’s feeling better.

Tim Redding will pitch one inning against the Univ. of Michigan tomorrow, during a split-squad game.
