David Wright put Team USA into the final round of the World Baseball Classic yesterday with a walk-off hit down the right-field line, scoring two runs, in a 6–5 win over Puerto Rico.
In 23 at-bats for Team USA, Wright is batting .348 with three RBI
J.J. Putz pitched a scoreless inning, while striking out two hitters.
As such, Puerto Rico is eliminated from the tournament, meaning Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Pedro Feliciano, Alex Cora and Nelson Figueroa will return Mets camp in Port St. Lucie later this week.
