In the early going, it looks like Citi Field is going to have Yankee Stadium beat food wise. We have NY icons Danny Meyer doing multiple spots (Shake Shack!) and Drew Neopoirent (master of the restaurant universe) and Pasternak (fish guru - lobster rolls, beer and baseball works for me). The Yankees have a Hard Rock Cafe (ugh, so does every half-ass town in America) and something called NYY Steak, run by the Hard Rock cooperation. The whole feel is TOO corporate over there.

That's fine, show up in the second, leave by the 8th. Enjoy the game. Some of us are there day after day, and even come for batting practice. Do that regularly, spend 8 hours at the park, and you're going to want some real food.

There's a something Queens ale at the Frites place.

The Blue Smoke and Shackmeister are both at those restaurants, but I think the other two, the Brooklyn Sabroso and the Queens whatever aren't sold _anywhere_ else.

(Oh, and apparently Shake Shack is opening in Philly. Apparently they can't get enough of us :-))

Speciality beers I've read about thus far include:

Shakemeister

Blue Smoke Original Ale

Sabroso Ale

Not too sure about the others yet.

Good Call. I paid 50 bucks a seat to watch the game, NOT, eat. A Hot Dog, Peanuts and Cracker Jacks are all I need. If I wanted to go out and eat, I would not go to a game. Who really decides to go to a game because of the food? Yo don;t, its to see the game. Lets go Mets. 2009, THERE WILL NEVER BE A BATTER TIME.

Matt or anybody know what vegetarian/vegan options they will be offering?

Most other stadiums I have travelled to now carry veggie dogs and/or veggie burgers.

I keep hearing about all this delicious food for meat eaters, but as a life long Mets fan and long time vegan I hope they sell veggie dogs.
