Play Tatis and sit Murph
I think you'll sooner see Tatis in for Castillo, which is surprising to me.
Jerry probably feels Luis can benefit from the rest more with his history of knee issues.
I hope he waits for Castillo to cool off before he does. Luis is hitting well since his little chat with Jerry.
He's hitting .289 in 9 games. Definitely not struggling at the plate. Do you have a man crush on Tatis, a guy Omar reclaimed off the trash heap and no upside what so ever? That's the problem with black and white Mets fans (those of you who wish we were like the yankees), you can never let a kid develop. The problem isn't hitting as much as it has been our 2, 3, & 4 starters, who seem to think the game is only 5 innings. They've been rotten. Thank God Omar signed Livan.
where is Tatis..2008 Comeback Player of the Year, great spring..Mets brass has anointed Murph as the second coming after 140 major league at-bats and has thrown an above average veteran major league corner outfielder into a platoon with a washed-up 40yr old Sheff, while their most clutch player in 08(Tatis) collects splinters on the bench..platoon Murph with Tatis..at least when Tatis starts,Castillo can go back to batting 2nd and we'll have a stronger line-up..Murph hasn't earned this respect yet.
Who's above average in the OF. Beltran is great. the rest of the cast is a dime a dozen, accept for murphy, who most likely will be a t 1B next year.
I totally agree with you that playing Tatis over Murphy is a knee jerk response and doesn't make much sense at this point. That said, I think you are being a little harsh on Tatis. No need to pump one guy up at the expense of the other. tatis will have his opportunities and will hopefully produce as he did last year. He was a great shot in the arm for this team.
Agreed, that was my knee jerk reaction. Tatis served us well last year, and most likely will again when the injury bugs hit. My point is that he's on the back end of an "interesting" (early fame to almost out of baseball) career and fans want him to replace a kid who most of the better talkingheads have said is a hitter with a veterans presence at the plate and is improving everyday. He's hitting .289 in light on his sluggish start. He's not exactly hitting his weight. More like CC Sabathias
CC looks like he's over .300.
