Having seen Maine already pitch in October he is the least of my worries right now, other than being healthy. If the Mets could get a big time starter to pair with Santana yes I would do it, but the chances are slim that a team is going to give that up. And really for it to make a difference for the Mets we are talking about getting a 1 to co-ace with Santana ala the Diamondbacks with Schilling and Johnson. Santana and generic decent 7 inning guy is not going to make the Mets a big contender. More Maine than Pelf. Yet the logic of turning a young controllable mostly good results pitcher into a better pitcher at more cost but with more consistency is likely a good option.
