Hindsight is 20//20. Besides the fact that the majority of fans wanted nothing to do with Dunn, Omar had said they weren’t making major moves after K-Rod/Putz due to budget considerations.

At the same time, it would have been great if Omar actually did pursue Ibanez, a New York native, as he was linked to the team. However, Philly got him on a 3 year deal. He may be a guy who wears down in the coming years. I did check to see if he served as a DH at all over the last few years as a rest from playing the field, but it turns out he has been in left every game he was in over the past 3 years.

this couldve been avoided by signing dunn this offseason, but omar was too busy patting himself on the back for putz/krod.

First thing I would do if I were the GM is go to Beltran and ask him who we should trade for. I have a strong recall that Beltran wanted Ibanez. I’m pretty sure that was a good call-

Neither one of these players are worth a “boat load” and it makes me laugh that a joke franchise like the Washington Natinals (uniform refernece) are asking for it. Please Omar do not trade for either of these guys. They are barely worth B prospects, much less Bobby Parnell. I’d rather just call the rest of this season a wash than trade good prospects for a couple of scrap heaps. Especially one that can’t actually play ball and one that is a DL all-star.

I want no part of Dunn. He strikes out too much, clogs the bases, and he is the worst defensive player in baseball. I don’t think its a coincidence that Dunn has been on bad teams his entire career.

I would hate to see us lose Parnell. He is a future star closer and a dependable 8th inning guy as long as we have K-Rod.

If anyone here isnt satisfied with Wrights hitting in late and close situations, wait till you get to see Adam Dunn. Ive never, ever seen this guy hit when he’s needed the most.

The Nats are trying to unload both to save salary so that they can sign their number one pitching prospect prior to the August deadline.

I wouldn’t mind either player in a salary dump as long as the Mets don’t unload top prospects. If the Mets took a package that could lighten the Nats salary load, they can’t expect a ton back especially for an injury ridden Johnson. Offer some mid-level prospects and if don’t take it know that the peitcher won’t sign in DC and won’t be killing us for years to come.
