nationals-hatThe Washington Nationals came to play again on Thursday, shutting out the Yankees, 3-0

After a three hour rain delay, starter Craig Stammen tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings, and Ryan Zimmerman and Cristian Guzman knocked out three hits apiece to lead Washington to a series win over the Bronx Bombers.

…I can only imagine the pressure Joe Girardi is feeling after this one.

Nate McLouth homered and drove in four runs, and rookie phenom Tommy Hanson ran his record to 2-0 with six strong innings on the mound as Atlanta shut out Cincinnati, 7-0.

…Hanson allowed just three hits in six innings as he seems to be settling into a nice little groove now.

Elsewhere, Florida defeated Boston, 2-1, in a rain-shortened game at Fenway Park, and Rod Barajas hit a ninth inning home run against his former team to lead the Blue Jays to an 8-7 victory and a series sweep of the Phillies.

…According to MLB.com, Barajas is hitting .500 against Philadelphia with four home runs and ten RBI since he left the team in 2007!

the 2009 Philadelphia Phillies cum Toronto Blue Jays Revenge Tour was pretty sweet. Barajas and Rolen both had good stats against the Phils.

if only we could play well enough to catch up to them. they’re giving us every chance.

Sadly, we should easily atleast be tied if not in first! With every dropped pop up, missed bag, base running debacle and yet another different lineup from Jerry I simply shake my head and ask why???
