Jeff, of Amazin Avenue, does an interview with his cousin, Joey August, who will play for Single-A Brooklyn this summer.

August was drafted by the Mets in the 20th round this year.

Meanwhile, in a post to Mike’s Mets, Dave Mills creates a few lists for the Mets, such as ‘Three Best Hitters,’ ‘Three Mets Who Need More Playing Times,’ and ‘Three Worst Minaya Moves.’

Greg Prince leads off a post to Faith and Fear in Flushing by writing, “It’s getting so bad that I’m beginning to think Brian Schneider deserves to be traded to a contender.”

In a post to the Eddie Kranepool Society, Steve gives his two cents on the bullpen, and the recent light bulb over Jerry Manuel’s head, while Rob Harding of Hot Foot asks Manuel to ‘spread it around.’

John of Metstradamus adds Pat Burrell to taxes and death, as the three things that are certain in life.

Lastly, Taryn of My Summer Family coins the phrase Post-Traumatic Mets Disorder, or ‘PTMD.’

???

I am hardly enamored with the Mets play of late, but they are still 2 games out of first place while missing numerous key parts. Come on now.

Agreed. Missing leadoff hitter, cleanup hitting, #2 starter, #3 starter, set-up man. I have no idea why people expect them to romp in every single game. With those parts missing they are a .500 team at best.

i would be happy if they were a .500 team
losing 8 out of 11 is no where near a .500 team..
