So it was Bora$ who orchestrated Smoltz going to Boston, thus forcing the Braves to add a 4th year to Lowe's contract? I see.

Bora$ sure is a diabolical SOB. Was he behind the Kennedy assassination too?

He was trying to just throw strikes and wasn't trying to fool anyone. The condition of his knee and throwing strikes was all the coaching staff was interested in his first game back, and any level can hit a batting machine. That he walked only one and was not hurting afterward is a great sign.

What sucks is the fact that by MLB rules, once a pitcher starts their rehab start, they have to come back to the MLB club after 30 days (unless they go back on the DL)

That being said, I hope if ANYTHING, the Mets put Nieve and Ollie in the Pen (if they do bring him back up) and keep Redding and Maine in the rotation.

What I prefer is that when the 30 days are up, the Mets put Ollie on Waivers and hope someone else will take him off their hands. If he passes through waivers, send him back to the minors and let him take however long he needs to get himself right.

Maine's status is probably directed to some degree by Nieve's next start. If Nieve pitches well again, I see Maine pitching another rehab start. But not 100 pitches. No need to overwork him in a rehab start. Another 4-5 innings of effective ball should do it.

I completely agree about Maine, I think he's a really strong pitcher. I just wish he had a curveball, but I'm nit-picking. Oliver Perez is going into the Omar Minaya hall of fame. This is going to be awful and what's better he's around from two more years after this one.

I'm a Maine fan, I think he'll come back and he's compeitive he'll do well i believe that being said let him have another rehab start especially considering how redding pitched tonight and how neive has been doing, as for ollie i'm beginning to feel he'll never be back and i never really depended on him comming back, i would like maine back though or at least knowing he can pitch makes the rotation deeper.

How can you not structure Perez's contract to be filled with performance clauses? This is so embarassing.
