I agree 100% on everything you said. As for Murphy, I think alot of people are getting upset at the wrong person! Sure Murph struggled in LF defensively, but he was hitting, then he started taking the defensive issues to the plate and we saw the results. But after that point I can’t blame Murphy at all for his performance. I mean what do you expect when Jerry jerks him in and out of the lineup, up and down the lineup, and when Jerry finally got it right and let him play first not only did he play well defensively, but with consistent at bats in the same place in the order Murphy started hitting! After which Jerry started benching him inexplicably every time the wind blew Northeast. Meanwhile playing the (currently worthless) HUman GBDP machine in Fernado Tatis! How in the world is Murphy going to get in the groove at the plate if every time he goes 3 for 5 Jerry sits him for three days! It’s downright ridiculous! I mean if Tatis is tearing the cover off the ball and driving in runs , then sure maybe you play Tatis, but tatis has been downright horrible! When is Jerry going to get a clue? Make out a lineup with the guys who are actually producing and be done with it! Don’t change the lineup everytime we lose a couple of games it’s counterproductive! Jerry has completely shattered an already battered injury riddled team by overmanaging to the point that even Omar MInaya has got to be scratching his head right now!

However Razor, when we have runners on first and second and are down four in the seventh inning, you CAN send the runner from 2nd on a hit to the outfield because no outfielder who has any sense at all will let the runners get to 2nd and 3rd.

You are probably the worst 3rd base coach I’ve ever witnessed.

First off, Mr Shines, STOP sending guys around third with wild abandun!
That being said; he means Dunn may replace Delgado; but we still are missing Betran, Reyes, Putz, Perez and Maine and what they bring to the team.
See what he means?

Frankly, I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around this comment:

If he will not make a difference on this current roster, how is he a perfect fit????

No, Matt agrees — Dunn is a perfect fit. What he then went on to say is that the team needs more than Dunn, so instead of getting the one guy who fits this team right now and trying to stay alive until the other players come back (and Dunn fits in then too, and in 2010), we should try to stay in it without him and then later get someone like him. Makes no sense to me.

It is frustrating, but you can’t think that way. A mistake was made, let’s not make another one.

If he can be had for the right mix of Parnell and b-level prospect(s), you have to do it. He’ll compliment the Calvary perfectly when they come back
