Interesting thoughts on being sellers. It might just get to that point early enough for Omar to be convinced as well. Generally its tough to be sellers and build for next year, much easier to build for years down the line.

Redding is under the Mets control through arbitration for at least next year. I wouldn't hesitate to trade him if it gets that bad, but its not like much will come in return for a rental starter. We would probably be better served with Niese in the rotation though to see what he has for 10 starts or so.

...not one mention of Brian Stokes bombing when it was a one run game?

Nieve had nothing, that is for sure, but they overcame that with defense and got some help to be right in the game at 3-2. If Stokes hadn't come up so small they might just win that one.

Start the rebuilding. Omar should let every GM know that EVERY ONE on the roster is available.

Sure we may have 90 games left but we are no closer to getting the core of this team back then we were a month ago. Beltran - DONE for the Year. Delagado DONE for the year or even a career. Reyes big freaking deal...Even if he does find a way to get on base no one can score him anyway.

Jim, not this year. The mets are fielding a Double AA team because, guys are hurt. How much of the mets Payroll is on the DL? Pathetic. I say, trade Reyes in the offseason to make the mets better.

"Speaking of Nieve, why does everyone at SNY keep calling him, ‘a journeyman pitcher,’ when he was with the Astros organization for his entire career before coming to the Mets? "

The word journeyman has nothing to do with being on multiple teams -- there is no journey they are taking. It derives from the definition of journeyman in the professional world, where craftsmen who are not good enough to be masters in their field are called journeymen. Nieve is a but young to be considered someone who will never be a master, but the point is he doesn't have to have Elmer Dessens passport to be one.

Wright is either not clutch or trying too hard.

Tatis needs to be ONLY a PH.

After it was 3-2 I flipped to another game watched a while, ccame back, saw one pitch-the Grand Slam. Flipped away again, saw one pitch, the game ending DP. Pretty much describes the season.

Check is in the mail

I'll still respect you in the morning

We are all frustrated. Dont look know, but we are in trid place, and, the Braves are knocking on our door, now. This just keep getting better all the time. Has this team put us through enough yet? How bad can things get? we suffered through 2006 and Beltran watching strike three, and, then 2007 and 2008, when will this team have some pride and play with heart and deterinmation? when will they give us loyal fans something to cheer about, rather than make excuses for? It looks like we wil have to look ahead to 2010.

OK, so I was wrong about the score, I predicted a loss of 5-2, and we losy 10-6. We still lost. Here is the thing, even if we get back Reyes, Delgado and Beltran, what makes anyone thing that they will all be hot at the same time? It has aint heappened yet. That means we have 4 real hitters in the line up, we still have 5 pieces of garbage. And, the rotation is still a big question mark. We have lost 5 in a row and won only one series out of the last 5, that aint good. When is the last time we have won more in a row than we have lost?

Hooray Wright drove in a meaningless run. Meanwhile the entire rest of baseball the Mets face continue to hit homeruns left and right.
