I actually don’t mind Hagin – true, he’s not a great play-by-play guy, but he knows the game inside and out. Better at color work.

Hagin is just killing time until the Cardinals invite him back. This team still needs a solid #2 in the radio booth. After growing up with Murphy-Thorne and Murphy-Cohen, the Hagin and McCarthy experiments have been so substandard – and have been insults to Howie’s great work.

If nothing else, just dial up some old Met. Franco does a decent job with MLB radio.

Hey, why not send them a bill, If they can’t spend the big money on a #2 Starter or a big bat atleast they should pay for all the Rogaine , Counciling, Alcohol, and anything else we might need to avoid a nervous breakdown watching this team!

Of course…but they were also what, 9-18 in June? So their record has stunk for awhile.

It’s not even that their losses are gut-wrenching, so many of them are just so…winnable. If not for just a little more consistent execution.

I’ll take 2-0 in July though, and on paper you have to like the matchups in Philly, especially with new-Met-killer Ibanez out.

Man, I’m listening on the radio – that was one of the weakest game-ending calls I’ve ever heard from Mr. Wayne Hagin. No juice whatsoever. Howie would’ve blown a gasket with a “put it in the books!!!” right there.

The problem is that their losses have been of the unbelievably gut-wrenching variety, so it makes it seem like their record is actually a lot worse than it actually is. That Castillo drop felt like 5 losses instead of just one.
