Steve Popper of the Bergen Record is reporting that team doctors have yet to determine when Carlos Beltran will begin working out again.
In addition, Popper reports that John Maine is still resting and has yet to resume throwing and Jose Reyes has not begun to run while he rehabs in Port St. Lucie.

The Mets should construct a MASH unit somewhere in CitiField where all of the Mets’ walking wounded can hang out. They could call it “Club DL”. It would be one of the most exclusive clubs in the world, with some $80 million in salaried players in residence.
sad,but true!
I love the Mets.
That being said I am also a realist.
We are not going to see Delgado or Reyes again in 2009.
And there is a very good chance we will not be seeing Beltran either.
No announced info equals, we don’t want people to stop buying tickets and believeing.
And ya know what?
With the teams in the NL East; I DO still believe.
But I think our star power is totally diminished for ‘09.
Hope I’m wrong!
PS; until proven otherwise, Maine and Perez are nothing more than 2009 LimaTime’s.
Again; hope I’m wrong!
first, there is still a lot of baseball to be played.
reyes and beltran will play unless it is later determined that they need surgery and frankly, there is no indication otherwise.
delgado is a question mark but he may play in september.
perez and maine will be back. what you get from them is a question mark.
putz will be back in september and wagner before that. what you get from them will also be a question mark.
I’ll still take reyes and beltran back and hope for delgado. putz and wagner will help and either maine or perez adds something and the mets should win the division.
if no one comes back. it will be a disappointing season.
