Oliver Perez allowed three runs in five plus innings in a rehab start for triple-A Buffalo tonight.
Perez is expected to start against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
“I’ve got to take in what took place, see about his velocity and all,” Jerry Manuel said.

I don’t expect Ollie to be perfect when he gets back, but I do expect him to be better than Redding. I’m praying we get the old Ollie back (15-win Ollie)…I’ll take the bad starts if it means 2/3 of his starts will be good ones, which is usually the case with old Ollie.
This team needs something to get excited about…you can see that they are just drained of emotion because there hasn’t been anything to smile about in Flushing all year.
Either a trade or names starting to come off the DL would spark this team, IMO…
Does anyone actually think Jerry has any input at all into whether or not Perez will start against the Dodgers? Its all front office with maybe Warthen throwing in his two cents. Funny Jerry…
