Wasn't it reported on this blog that Beltran would be back shortly after the AS break? What about that now?

small point, but if Fernando Martinez goes on the DL instead of going to AAA he will use up his rookie eligibility this year.

Maybe I missed something but didn't Wagner bypass the Mets' trainers until recently? If so, then shouldn't they hire him?

There is no question Cora is a great professional and teammate. He was an excellent signing, but there is no denying right now that he is exhausted and exposed as someone who isnt an everyday player. I appreciate everything he has done, without a doubt, but he cant buy a hit these days because he is worn out playing with an injury.

Come back Jose

I dont even know what to say about him. Part of me understands the change in swing to adapt to a park. But part of me also thinks he should never have changed what made him successful. He has tweaked his swing every year, he used to spray the ball opposite field with power, then he went to an uppercut, and now he has no power.
at the same, any transition cant be that instantly consistent. there has to be growing pains I assume.

If Livan is fine, I would agree. Keep him there.
Fine meaning no more than 3-4 runs given up per 6-7 innings. But if he continues to pitch poorly or gets worse, the Mets cannot afford to wait till August 30th. They need every win they can get now to stay in the race, and they can't afford to put out a poorly producing starter who just last year faded badly in the second half.
