Obviously if they need to be on the DL with a serious injury that's one thing but sitting out for 3 or more games is wasting space on the roster.

Everyone needs to be rested one day here and there,if for no other reason but to let their bodies recover without the daily strain.

No one wants them to play to the point where the injury can get worse, because then instead of losing them for 15 days, they are gone from 30-50 days.

I agree, it seems that the slightest discomfort puts these guys out of the game. No one on the Mets plays through anything anymore (with few exceptions). That only feeds the argument that the Mets are Soft, besides the fact that they fold when challenged.

But on the other hand, when the Mets don't put someone on the DL, and the player gets injured further, they get lambasted.

No one getting the salaries that they are getting should be asking for any days off.

The only way David Wright gets a day off is for the trainer to tell Jerry "he's not going in today". Maybe that same method should be handled the same way with the other players.

The injuries are ridiculous and are being milked in my opinion. I understand that they cannot be overly optimistic to the fans about the status of the players returns, but some occasional updates on timetables would be appreciated.

Anyone else starting to wonder whether all these injuries are for real?

To be honest, this is how I feel ....

Remember the good old days when players would play through any injury? I think its too easy these days for people to ask out of the line up.

I was thinking the same thing about Cuban. The problem is that MLB doesn't want him in "the club." The Yankees would have a serious problem with him because he is a PR machine/nightmare and would steal headlines from the pinstripes. What is bad for the Yankees is bad for baseball, or that is at least what they want you to believe. He needs to win desperately, something the Wilpons want but don't need. He is incredibly fan friendly because he knows how to cater to clients. No one I know ever deals with the Wilpons in Business and that has made them detached.

Can you just imagine Cuban sitting behind home plate cursing the umps or saying to Jimmy Roliins mom that your son is a thug? How awesome would that be? Do the Wilpons even go to the Mets games? The closest they get it SNY or maybe the Brooklyn Cyclones because nothing bad comes from Brooklyn.

This may sound silly, but I think Tatis should be sent to AAA for a while when Pagan is ready to come back, no Martinez.

If anything, Martinez plays his heart out when he is on the field, and I hope his knee is fine. He will catch fire at the plate sooner or later...if not this year, then next April probably. Let him finish this season in the big leagues (or at least until guys start getting healthy) because every single AB is experience for the kid. Let him be around guys like Beltran, Cora, Church, Sheffield, and even Delgado (whenever he is with the team) so he can learn from the veterans.

Tatis on the other hand just frustrates me the way Castro did...while Castro was much lazier than he, Tatis, just doesn't seem to be playing with his head screwed on tight. Mental mistakes are leading to him making physical mistakes and grounding into crucial DPs at the plate...let him go to AAA to

A) wake him up mentally...show him he is not guaranteed a spot in NY

B) let him work on his swing

C) let him pound AAA pitching to get some confidence

dwright5, I think you said it all perfectly. I agree on all counts, particularly your assessment of the buffoon who serves as the manager of this team.

I am so sick of listening to the empty ramblings of this manager. Yes, he has a really weak roster to work with. But thanks to his management this team adds up to even less than the sum of its weak parts.

Jerry-speak is just so much blah-blah, meaningless, empty, white noise. Even if we get our full roster back I have no confidence in this guy as a manager.
