I was at the game last night and it was the worst showing I've ever seen live. After last night I'm convinced that this team either has NO confidence or they've given up.

Why?

It's what you don't see on TV. In the dugout during their turn at bat, the Mets are like walking zombies. No emotion just walking dead. They look spent and dejected. Nothing and I mean nothing seemed to bring any kind of spark or emotion out of anyone.

At 5 1/2 out, I think it's over. The cavalry is not coming anytime soon. Mid-August for most of them. By then the Mets may be 10 games out and cemented in 4th place with talk about a new managerial search.

I cant watch this team play, it hurts too much. They are that bad, and, I had such high hopes and expectations, going back to 2006. I cant stand to watch my hopes and dreams crushed time and time again. I cant enjoy watching this team play anymore. Like I said I count on loosing every series we play and If we get one win I am happy. GAME OVER , see you in 2011.

Wow, I almost never leave a game (no matter the score) until its over. The last time I had I got burned. It was the day game against Chicago, when the Mets game back late to win.

After that I vowed I would never do so again.

I broke that promise last night. Last night's game was painful to watch. I ended up leaving during the 7th inning stretch.

Before he last two games, David Wright hit .116 in 11 games (43 AB), combining the .318 he hit in the 9 games before that (44 AB) to say he hit .210 in 20 games to maintain a trend you thought of a month ago is moronic. Stop already.

In fact, he had a 9 for 17 and 13 for 27 stretch in his last 20 games. You combined his 1-23 to keep drilling home your useless trend.

TRU DAT !! Even with Reyes, Beltran and Delgado, is this team that good? NO. The only good thing is the Phillies signed PEDRO. He will pitch the best game of his life against the METS, probably and perfect game, with our luck :} I keep saying that this team didnt have what it take in 2006, 07, or 08, what made us think that 09 would be different? We need NEW players at 1B, 2B, C, LF and RF, then we can think about winning.

What wrong with "US PEOPLE"? We want this team to win, dont you? There will never be a better time. The Phillies are not that good, and, neither is the rest of the NL East. IF, Omar could get some help for this team, we could, win the Division. From there, I dont know. If OMAR sits on his hands, the season is over. I dont know who he can get, but, anything is better than what we have. He has to show the team and the fans that he is willing to do what it takes to help this team win. That is what's wrong with us .

At the rate we are playing the BEST we can hope for is to win 1 game in each series, unless we play the NATS, then we may win 2. We are that bad.f we keep playing like this we will stay in fourth place. IF, omar does nothing to get us out of this spiral we are done. It looks more and mor elike we are done. If the team, with the regulars, could NOT pull it together to win after 2006, and, the collpase of 2007 was not enough to stimulate them, then, this core is done. Time to re-build. Keep Wright and Reyes, every other player is on the block.

Not that I think Omar needs any help getting himself fired after the past 2 seasons, but when I watch Manuel constantly change the line-up every night and then make sarcastic comments to the press about "this is what I have" and "this is the way we're built," I sometimes wonder if Jerry and Berenzard are in cahoots with each other in an effort to sabotage Omar and enhance both their careers. Considering the buzz after Willie was fired was that Jerry and Berenzard plotted together on that - who knows? It would be fitting.

PS - anyone who thinks Berenzard would do better than Omar because he emphasizes the farm system is nuts. This farm system is a mess in large part because of Tony's (lack of) development program. It mirrors the major league team perfectly - let's push a small group of "elite" guys to the moon while sitting back and hoping an occasional role player can pop out. All Berenzard is trying to do is create superstars - yet by accelerating guys like Martinez, Niese, Holt, Pena, and others through the system, all he's managed to create so far is hype and disappointment and not a single secondary player who can serve a role on this roster currently.

Basically, we are missing 4 guys.
And while they are BIG guys,
is this a first place TEAM.
even with those 4 guys?
I think not...
Omar, don't look for a seller.
Be a seller!
