I don't know that even Bobby V could win with this team as currently constructed, but atleast the lineup would be more consistent and actually make sense. And the pointless errors would be irradicated in short order!

I disagree on Livan , I think he's headed for the bullpen in the short term and possibly a trade before the deadline (although I dunno what we might get for him (other than foul line chalk) Redding has looked worse in the bullpen than he did in the rotation, and that we can agree is not a pretty sight. (Time to cut bait on that guy) Dessens, likely will be sent down, unless Omar finds a home for Mr. Stokes. I'm not ready to give up on Nieve just yet, he did give the Mets a chance to win his last two times out even though he wasn't his stellar self. I think Niece gets the call, at this point does it matter as long as Livan isn't in there.

Like I said above, no way Livan is out.

With that said, Misch has pitched well and is left handed, he should stay. If we are going to bring up Figgy and niese (not likely) then Livan should be released and Dessens DFA. When Maine comes back you either DFA Redding or Figgy.

I agee with that new rotation for a while. I like it a lot better than what we have now. No way Stokes losing his bullpen spot as somebody suggested. Even if Nieve goes to the pen we have scrubs like Pat Misch and Elmer Dessens and Redding who should all go before Stokes. Redding should be released, he's awful.

There is zero chance Livan is out of the rotation. There is also zero chance Nelson figureora is in the rotation. Thats using common sense which is not what the Mets do.

Livan is most definetly the #5 starter in the 2nd half. And the only way he loses that spot is if he gets bombed another 3 or 4 starts, the mets trade him or trade for someone.

The mets should give his spot to Neise or trade for someone to take his spot but they wont. He is a good #5 starter on a good team. until this team is 100% healthy he is a big liability.

To reiterate and I don't recall who they were but there was more than one commenter on Metsblog last September calling for A. Reyes to start at second over Castillo every day because they felt he worked better with J. Reyes. When it was brought up that that was ridiculous and that Argenis is not a major league level hitter, those same commenters stated "who cares?"

I agree he needs the break desperately, but maybe being with stars from the other teams and being on a team that stands a chance of winning may be good for him.

He is a team first player all the way, maybe too much sometimes.
