Time and again we have seen that his bat has been critical to the lineup...look back to 2005, 2007, and first half 2008 compared to when Carlos is in the lineup. Given that there really aren't any impact first baseman on the market, letting Delgado go will create a big hole in the lineup. I've been thinking lately that it may not be a bad play bringing him back. If he is productive, and there are no better options, then bring him in. As much as I've been pleased wih what Castillo has given us at second all things considered, I think now that he's healthy I think we should visit moving him for maybe a Freddy Sanchez kind of guy, I know he makes some green, but the guy puts up numbers plain and simple and he's younger and we need another guy in the lineup capable of generating multiple doubles. Thats part of our problem offensively, nowhere near enough extra base hits. With a healthy hip and wrist, he shoudl have a couple fo decent years left and there is not much else out there. It would have to be the right deal and we would have to have a plan B that made sense.
