trade brewing?

KD July 12, 2009 at 8:22 pm

I think what it is is that Reyes, Beltran, and Delgado are all ready but they’re just keeping it secret. And they’ll demote 2 more people within the next 3 days and then in Atlanta, they’ll all be in the line up. (And all hit 3 home runs each.)

Then the Mets will win out.

(Hey, I need these delusions to keep watching the real season.)

Haha! Love it!

havery July 12, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Argenis Reyes is irreplacable. That is why no one esle was called up. You could put a cardbaord cutout of Kevin Elster at the plate and have just as much chance of getting a hit.

ericloz July 12, 2009 at 8:49 pm

@ least there is a chance of the cut-out getting hit by a pitch and advancing the runners.

Mets5rocks July 12, 2009 at 9:17 pm

lmao!

dave27 July 12, 2009 at 8:48 pm

I’m sure it’ll be Angel Berroa.

I actually like that pickup. I could see him getting alot of starts at SS until Reyes is back. He’s never approached his ROY levels offensively, but he’s still got a little life in his bat and could get hot for a spurt. And he can make the plays.

Plus we need a former Royal Rookie of the Year until Beltran gets back, and Bob Hamelin can;t be located.

RockfordMetsFan July 12, 2009 at 9:11 pm

Hmmm. Sending down A. Reyes with his .118 batting average with no runs and no RBIs was a no brainer. I’d rather that the Mets have Keith Hernandez come down from the broadcast booth or get HoJo out of the dugout than keep A. Reyes. He looks clueless at the plate.

Mets5rocks July 12, 2009 at 9:19 pm

He looks clueless because looks like he just graduated high school!…………hits like it too!

ericloz July 12, 2009 at 9:39 pm

I don’t know…you just insulted dozens of H.S. ball players.

I’d think that some of them can turn on a fastball much better then reyes ever can.

stickguy July 12, 2009 at 9:51 pm

Well, Oomar has insisted with playing with a 24 more man roster over the years (all those “day to day” injuries), so maybe he decided Reyes was so worthless ti didn’t matter?

I’m afraid it will be Berroa, even though he is likely to stink just as bad.

What abotu Javier Castillo? Omar picked him up a month or so ago, and he has been smoking the ball at AAA. And, he has been productive not that long ago in Chi. If he can field at SS at all decently, at least as good as COra, why not get him up and ope to tap into at least a little bit of offense?

I like Cora, but he hasn’t hit much at all playing everyday with a bad thumb.

MainStMets23 July 12, 2009 at 10:03 pm

def going to be berrora, hed still be a yank if they didnt make the move to get hinske

Mets5rocks July 12, 2009 at 10:38 pm

It would’nt suprise me if that was the guy they call up. I do think that Cora needs some time off. I got to hand it too Cora for being a bench player I don’t think we can ask much more from him bad thumb and all. Between him and David Wright those two need the All Star break the most I think.

KickedintheMetsiclesAgain July 12, 2009 at 11:01 pm

What will our 2010 outfield be – F-Mart, Beltran, F-Core?

stickguy July 12, 2009 at 11:28 pm

who knows at this point.

But, if I had to guess, Beltran and Frenchy, with someone new in LF. Maybe a vet on a shorter term deal?

Mets5rocks July 12, 2009 at 11:59 pm

NOOOOOOOOO, no more washed up Vets! we need to get younger not older especially in that monstrosity of a ballpark.

dave27 July 13, 2009 at 12:14 am

Say NO to “Frenchy” – lame nickname from a name city that must think any athlete name that doesn’t sound like Chipper Jones or Mark Martin or Dale Jarrett is exotic.

dave27 July 13, 2009 at 12:15 am

‘lame’ city that is

ericloz July 13, 2009 at 1:13 am

I like F-Core…

It fits in the current sceme.

props to whom ever coined it.

Mets5rocks July 13, 2009 at 1:30 am

Omg, lemme think….who was it!

Mets5rocks July 13, 2009 at 1:39 am

And then winner of the SHORTEN FRANCOEUR NAME SO WE CAN SPELL / TYPE IT GOES TO………..DRUM ROLL PLEASE!……… KickedintheMetsiclesAgain for his submission of F-CORE!

dustin in ben lomond July 13, 2009 at 1:29 am

maybe Acta can join A Reyes.

Manny Acta has been fired as manager of the Washington Nationals, he told ESPNdeportes.com’s Enrique Rojas on Sunday.

Mets5rocks July 13, 2009 at 1:39 am

Why? they’ve been playing better of late.

murpheeee July 13, 2009 at 7:09 am

maybe they got a green light from a potential replacement….Bobby V maybe??

starz31 July 13, 2009 at 8:59 am

probably a middle infielder…but maybe a Niese or Figueroa

Agee's Catch July 13, 2009 at 9:14 am

I would look for Nieve top go if Neise comes up. i think they are two separate transactions

Nate W. July 13, 2009 at 10:34 am

They already have 1 or 2 too many pitchers…

imo, they should have sent down Misch back when Evans was sent down so they could have an extra bat around for the last two games before the break.

Misch could be called right back up in the second half, or Bostick could do a similar job.

but instead its a 4 man bench and a 10 man pen…

Agee's Catch July 13, 2009 at 9:06 am

After reading your comments, it probably will be Berroa. We’re 2-0 with Francouer.

Francouer could be translated as “french heart” Imagine in the heat of battle:
“I don’t want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.”
This is the leadership we’ve been missing!
