For the Mets to stand a chance they need two of Reyes, Beltran and Delgado in uniform on a field in the lineup for the NY Mets on August 1st for the remainder of the season period.

There is just no way the current collection of players can keep the Mets within striking distance through August 15th.

Encouraged? A cortisone shot will make ANYONE move like nothing is wrong.

You can't be encourage by what Reyes is doing now. It is all a result from that shot.

Beltran will probably be the first to return, but if we get both he AND Jose back by mid-August (while hopefully still less than 7 games back), the Phillies are going to [explicit] a brick. I really want to give them a chance to choke and find out what it's like to be the one being chased during September.

Plus, wouldn't it be nice for someone on the FAN to ask Hamels if he thinks the Phillies are now choke-artists? Please, Karma, show your ugly face!

he has not even stepped on the field, but apparently the bruise is down they wanted to give it another two weeks before baseball activity which would be around 7/21 before he even "tests" it.

Nah, it's not the same style of injury but it is the same leg...in 2004 it was his right hamstring that he strained multiple times.

No this is a new injury. He has had hamstring problems in the past (04, 05) mostly strains and pulls. This he tore a tendon behind his knee sort of that runs up to his hamstring.

From everything I've read and I'm no DR. but it's something that doesn't need surgery, and isn't really necessary to play baseball. It was just a pain thing that had to heal up so he could start working on it. It hurt when he made any type of explosive movement.

No it was not the same injury.

Aside from the Cortizone shot, I'd like to hear that an MRI has revealed that the slight tear in tendon to the hamstring that they were treating with the platelet technique has healed.
