Pedro has not pitched a good baseball game since September of 2007 against the Phillies.

Enough already, he had one good season with the Mets and then spent most of 3 years on the DL.

I agree with you on all points Xav. I was at Shea for his last game as a Met and it was a valiant performance. He struggled at times but struck out 9 and kept us in it. He got a great ovation when he was pulled and it was a great moment.

He gave us some headaches over the years, but it will really bother me the first time I see him in that Candy Striper uniform. I'm not too worried about him hurting us.

What are they going to get 5 maybe 7 starts out of him, for a million bucks no thanks. IF this was June 14 instead of July 14th then I could see it but that's alot of green considering Pedro may not even pitch untill Sept. and even then I dunno think he's gonna be worth much.

I would be very surprised if the Phillies were ever seriously in the hunt for Halladay. Would he really be willing to sign an extension to pitch in that bandbox well into his 30s?

I agree... $1M base is peanuts. This is only one of the three best pitchers of our generation. I know he's old, but there are plenty of old pitchers winning games in baseball these days. I think this move will help the Phils and hurt us.

I'd rather we had him, especially at that price!

It's a great deal if we let the Phillies spend money for losses.

John Heyman is reporting that the deal is $1,000,000 guaranteed with $1,500,000 in incentives. I didnt want Pedro but seriously The MEts let him go to Philly for only $1,000,000????? We are the dumbest organization around... it is confirmed.

Btw - odds are probably 50/50 that Pedro actually 'joins' the Phillies...I mean he's going to have to pitch at the very least 3-4 starts in the minors to get in game shape, which takes us into mid-August and where he runs the risk of hurting himself. They can't possibly stick him directly in the rotation after not throwing a pitch in a major league game in 10 months.
