Little late but.........

I forget that you are on the list of fans that are never satisfied. Your assessment that 29 other GMs would fair better is crazy. The guy has put quality players on the field where other GMs put expensive players who under perform, etc etc. It is not Omars fault that the players he put together have very good numbers but do not seem to hit when it counts. Had he went out and signed players to big contracts who turned out to be awful, you have a point.

Cashman is a worse GM, easily. If Omar had 2 billion dollars he easily would have gotten the players Cashman has. Cashman is lucky.

So please stop it with your ridculous comments because you know very well you would be hard pressed to name 10 better gms. Nationals, pirates and cashman is already 3......i wont continue

An interesting note is that the Cards pitching coach's son got traded and Dave Duncan and Manager Tony La Russa have been a team all of these years. There has been talk that the only way to keep Pujols would probably be to keep La Russa. I have no idea if this deal is the beginning of the end for Pujols in St. Louis. I might be reading too many tea leaves here, but it might be of note.

I think of the 29 other GMs at least 20 could produce more than 1 playoff team in 5 years with the second highest payroll in baseball.

Wow.....No offense but why would you trade a young power hitting OF for an overrated SS who doesnt really hit? I dont get this at all. I think the SOX once again make a very good deal. Thats 2 young lefty hitters they got in less than 24 hrs. Theo Epstein is a great GM. I wish their were more like him

(by the way, I think Omar is a top 10 maybe top 5 GM in baseball right now no matter what you guys say)

They said he was just working out there. They also said he worked out there in the offseason. It wasn't a sign of things to come.

I did see this though which could be scary:

Minaya: Mets Will Be Buyers, Not Sellers http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/07/minaya-mets-will-be-buyers-not-sellers.html
