Given that their fans are prone to murder each other why should we be surprised by this?
I’m surprise there is not a laser pointer spot on Mr. Met’s head.
They are suffering from redneck wife beater withdrawal, when does Myers come back so they can feel at peace.
I just find it impressive that Mr. Met can take a bullet to the head and still make facial expressions…outstanding!
Let’s not be so sensitive Matt. I, for one, fully endorse mascot violence.
Also, Mr. Met’s head is so huge, I doubt he felt a thing. It would be like shooting Charlie Manuel in the stomach.
Or Jimmy Rollins in the mouth.

Looks like they removed the page, but sounds like the phillies are once again displaying no class.
I seriously think it’s a matter of insecurity on Phillies fans parts. They’re so rarely in this position and the Eagles fans are so abused that they feel it’s their duty to rub it in someone elses face. What they don’t realize is the Mets and Phillies are barely a rivalry.
Any Mets fan who really believes this is that much of a rivalry is just as sad as them. In 2006, were we talking about the Phillies? Mildly at best. Yet they’re fascinated with us even when we’re below .500 and almost double digit games out? Is there something wrong with this picture? There’s no history between the two teams. It’s lopsided in terms of success. The two teams may not like each other, but this is a pathetic attempt at making something special.
As much as I respect Alex Cora’s hard work, I think he embarrassed himself by saying that this ”rivalry” is so much more intense than the Yankees-Red Sox. I don’t like the Red Sox much and I hate the Yankees as much I do the Phillies (although I’d sadly have to root for NYY in a hypothetical WS), but that’s a real rivalry. Even the Knicks-Heat brief rivalry was so much more intense than this.
They don’t realize that fighting in September is what propelled them in October. They go one month hot, one month cold. If they keep following that pattern, October won’t be a good month. They should be picking a fight with the Dodgers if anyone. They’re a legit rival. They’re a great team. Maybe even a better team.
