Hey Zeile..little late but I am assuming you think Delgado will back at full strengh and sign with the mets. If not, then your theory is wrong. We would need to sign 2 bats as 1 Holliday does not replace 1 Delgado. Actually, its a step down.

1. It keeps Berroa off the field
2. It keeps A. Reyes off the roster
3. They gave up minor league dead weight

I really don’t see what there is to complain about with this trade. It cost them nothing and they will get slightly more than nothing in return, and then A. Hernandez will be cut in the winter. Really pointless to complain about this move…

But than again…. Remember Endy Chavez coming back to the Mets after how many stitns with the Expos/Nats? This could be a nice move for the Mets.

Count me as another still on the Lastings train.

And the fact they gave him up for nothing when he was cheap and controllable was bad enough. Just because he’s floundered with the two worst organizations in baseball the PIrates and Nats, doesnt mean the same would have happened with Mets.

And if the Nats get rid of someone, I’d take that as a badge of honor
