News: Alex Cora to have Season-Ending Surgery
The Mets have announced that infielder Alex Cora will have season-ending surgery on the torn ligaments in both of his thumbs.
Cora was on the disabled list earlier in the season with the same injury, which forced him to play with a splint when he returned.
Cora re-aggravated the thumb in late July.
…i can’t help but wonder if cora would’ve had these surgeries a while back, had it not been for Jose Reyes, and the slew of other injuries the team has suffered…

…i definitely commend cora’s grittiness… we knew he was playing hurt and i think he felt compelled to play because the club was missing reyes and i know from having the same injury that it wasn’t easy for him to tolerate the pain he was in…
