Poll: Update on Injuries, and Expectations
Assistant GM John Ricco told reporters yesterday that Carlos Beltran is in St. Lucie awaiting the results of an MRI, which, if all goes well, will clear him to run the bases.
…from what i understand, it goes MRI, run bases, slide, then return to the team around the first week of Sept., then ease back in to playing…
David Wright took batting practice with Single-A Brooklyn yesterday, for the second-straight day.
…the word from Citi Field is that wright must first go through a series of tests, on field and with a doctor, at which point, if all goes well, could allow him to re-join the team towards the middle of next week in Colorado…
…lastly, from what i can gather, Carlos Delgado has been essentially idle after he pulled an oblique muscle the other week… he wants to get back on field, to help his chances of getting a contract next season, as he is a free agent this winter…
Speaking of injuries…
The Mets have roughly $90 million in salary on the disabled list right, which, according to the New York Post, is more than the total budgets of 17 other teams.
