From what I can gather, Mets players, coaches, etc., have been occasionally, randomly dropping by different sections of the ballpark, be it the bullpen gate, the Ebbets Club, etc., mingling with fans, signing autographs, and taking pictures before the game.
For instance, several fans e-mailed me today to say Jeff Wilpon personally upgraded their seats, from Promenade to Field Level.
In addition, the Mets announced that every fan in Citi Field will be entitled to a free hot dog during tomorrow’s game.
The way it was told to me, the Mets are simply saying, ‘Thank you,’ to the loyal fans who continue to support the team this September.

Not that I am not appreciative but as a Saturday plan holder who lives on the Mass/NH border who can only make it down for Saturday games, how about mailing all the Season Ticker/Plan holders their “Thank You” ;-).
You know they wont do that, but its worth a try haha this is the next best thing, its a nice gesture my the Mets
haha, yeah I know. I’ll take one of those autographed jerseys being given out at the games mailed my way!
Speaking of Jerseys….anyone catch the collection of jerseys of forgettable players/coaches for sale at the games? My fav was the victor zambrano hold over……..
Wait didn’t you get that super-generous offer to buy another brick at a discount?
Only the Mets ‘thank’ their fans by trying to get more money out of them.
Are they forcing you to buy a brick?
Forcing? No. They offered plan holders a discounted pre-sale…which in-and-of-itself would not have been a bad thing, but I haven’t received a single acknowledgement before or since about what’s gone on this season, and I had to laugh that the first “Dear Plan Holder” email I got all season had an offer attached to it.
I fear that if Jeff Wilpon peronally offered me anything at this point, he’d get an earful that would probably get me banned from the stadium.
Any truth to the rumor that they were offering fans in the field level an upgrade consisting of a bus ticket to Philadelphia?
Apparently they will be doing things like this from now till the end of the season, and that promenade seats will be upgraded every game, so i wouldn’t worry too much if you weren’t at a game and have season tickets or a plan
I went to the game Sunday and they gave me a signed Krod bobblehead and then about an hour later caught me in the promenade and upgraded me to Ebbets club.
Not that I don’t appreciate these gestures, but I would like to see the same even when the Mets are winning.
