This afternoon at Citi Field, John Maine pitched in a simulated game and is still on target for Sunday’s start in Philadelphia against Pedro Martinez.

Maine pitched to Wilson Valdez and Jeremy Reed.

…like we always say, it’s how he feels the day after which is most important in determining his status no matter how he feels right now…

Facing Valdez & Reed simulates a game for Mets’ opponents.

Why didn’t Maine face REAL hitters, to simulate being a Mets pitcher?

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

Now he only needs to practice against MLB hitters and he’ll be ready to go.

He’ll throw batting practice on Sunday and be ready to make a start later next week.

Over under on Mets pitchers used in the Sept 13th double header in Philly. Redding and Maine are the starters. over/under 10.5 ?

Good news, I guess…

Well, the Steelers are playing soon, so it’s time I go have a few Frenchies! (that’s what I call a Jack & Coke now)
