News: Mets Fire more in Minor Leagues

By Matthew Cerrone on Sep 29, 2009, 9:06 am

The Mets have fired Double-A Binghamton manager Mako Oliveras, and Gulf Coast League manager Julio Franco, according to Adam Rubin of the Daily News.

last week, the Mets reportedly fired minor-league Special Assistant Ramon Pena and Field Coordinator Luis Aguayo… from what i can gather, basically, Omar Minaya is planning to replace all of Tony Bernazard’s guys with ‘his own guys,’ so to speak… i get the impression omar hired tony b, and tony b filled out the minor league staff… so, now that tony b is gone, all of his staff is getting the boot as well

I thought Julio was one of Omar’s guys. I remember him saying Franco would always have a job with the Mets as long as Omar was GM.

I remember that too – Maybe! this is a sign that the reign of Omar the Terrible has come to an inglorious end.

Luis Aguayo. He makes Razor Shines look like a genius at third base.

They should bring back Matt Galante…….we used to call him “Stumpy” back in 02-04 from Section 18 of the Mezz…a bunch of partial plan holders. Mainly because he looked like a stump….he looked about 4 feet tall, and was stocky. Of course our attention soon turned to the horrible product on the field and translated into negative behavior. Including getting the entire section to refuse to do the wave when it would come around because of how stupid it was. Ohhhh good times.
